This is what I was looking for.
A place where everything is completely unknown,
Sparse of any significance
And therefore full of meaning.
In darkness I find the same truth
As I do in light
And though its substantial harshness
I can feel it’s warm inside.
Cautious I touch its surface,
Hoping it lets me understand,
But I’m left without a trace,
Standing lonesome in its emptiness
Realizing nothing about this place.
A strange and uncomforting feeling
Lingers in my limbs
And I’m becoming keen,
Understanding that this might be
The place closest to myself
That I have ever been.
